Im kinda in the market right now for a Camera. I want to start taking really good pictures of my cooking and post them on a website.

Image that looks like this would be nice.

I am no photographer and the only camera I own is a Canon S3IS. Would my current camera be able to take pics like this?

Most likely you just need to develop a better eye and get better lighting.

Is not so much of a camera. You want a lens that has the shortest min focus distance. You need a lighting system with multiple strobes and a large light box.
 
The biggest thing for getting really pro looking shots of food (or any product photo, for that matter) will be your lighting, not the camera. I would go for an entry-level dslr (Canon Rebel or Nikon D40-90) if possible so you have a base for good sharp images, then start investing in a few off-camera flashes to really make your food pop off the plate.

I've been reading a lot on The Strobist lately, and they had an article on this very thing recently. Should get the wheels turning a little.

You'll have to post some of your images when you start taking them! Food photography is another interest of mine that I have yet to explore.
 
I just wanna use my S3IS the simplest way to take pictures of my food presentation. If I really do need to buy a DSLR, I would.

Lighting will definitely be very important for the resultant shots. To get shots I wanted with good soft lighting, I made a box similar to this, but I taped 4 bright white Styrofoam project boards together.

You can then buy some cheap lights and shine them into the box. I use a SLR so I just bounce an external flash off the top of the box to get nice top lighting.

Try this stuff out before deciding to sink hundreds into a SLR system or new camera.
 
When I saw the title of this thread I thought we would get Camera Recommendations if we sent this guy some food. HA. Silly me! :D
