Im running a 9600pro from Sapphire [(531/350) Done with RadLinker] and I've noticed that when I play Halo i experience small white square flashes on the screen.... If you have watched the Superbowl's replays you would know what I mean. Anyways I was wondering if those white squarish flashes are signs of ....
A. my video card dying
B. my crappy Acer AL716 17" LCD conflicts
C. Halo's fault

What are my options?

I only began to experience this today so I'm not quite sure about whats going on, and that none of the AA and AS settings for Halo were messed around with.

It kinda sounds like some leaked backlighting from your 17" LCD. Does it happen in other games?

Also, are you OC'ing your video card? Drop the OC and see if it still happens.

Can you take a screenshot of it, or does it seem to be overlayed (artifacts, backlight leaks, etc)

It only happens in Halo, and I have to be moving in order for that to happen. Other games like NFS:U and CS have no problems.

yes they are OC'ing the card....the default speeds for a 9600 pro are 400/600 so this puppy is cranked way up there....try at the default speeds and see if you have the same issues...I will bet that they will not be there

I cant seem to take a screen shot with the small white flashes. The flashes themselves, last for less than a second then new ones show up.

Edit: I was playing Halo today on the same GPU and V-memory clock speeds and there were no signs of the flashes occuring...

Try using hypersnap (google for it) to ensure you get the output of the frame buffer.

doesn't work for Halo

have to use Halo's built in screencapture utility, just hit the print screen button and it saves the pictures in TGA format in a folder called screenshots in the halo directory

Strange. I don't think I have run into anything that it doesn't work on but then again, I haven't taken screenshots of Halo. Any Idea why?
