Ok, so my brother is going to college and we are sticking him with our current digital camera, a 3.2MP fujiflim. It's great, except for the fact the it is slow, and since my father's job includes going to airshows we need some speed. I'm looking at around $400 but that's flexible. I want to know what should I look for in a camera and what models out there look good right now. Thanks.

A few Final questions:

1. Where do you guys buy this stuff, Ebay or FS/FT forum are not options, but online retailers are fine?

2. What do you think of these: Canon G6 or S2 1S, or FinePix s7000 (I using a fujifilm currently).

3. What should I pay for these, and how close is that to a SLR?

4. I should be looking for Shutter speed right? If so wht is the right speed to catch a jet at an airshow?

I had a chance to tinker around with a G6 today and was quite impressed. Well-built camera with lots of manual control. I just don't know how well it's zoom lens would be for shooting airshow pics (wouldn't you want a long zoom camera for that?)

If you do end up going with a long-zoom camera, I can definately recommend the Konica/Minolta Dimage A200 (8mp, 7x optical zoom with image stabilizer). I've had this camera for a few weeks, and am definately happy about this one.
