funny how that works... the dells should be coming this towards the end of the school year or the beginning of the summer... the only question now (i believe) is how much memory. i'm hoping for 512mb so they can crunch bigpacket WUs. the problem now is the machines only have 128mb so they can't run F@H and openoffice. i say, screw openoffice and use abiword or make the kids learn vi (it builds character:p) but... he isn't gonna go for that. the dells should be 2x the speed (2.4 P4 or 2.53 Celery if i had to guess) to replace the current boxen in the school library (1.2ghz durons)

should be an interesting summer.

nah... they're probably going out into the rest of the school, to replace the p2-p3 systems elsewhere. those are going... umm... not sure.

but not to our house :)() cause my dad says our electric bill is high enough. imagine that? 6 people and 8 computers... and the electric bill is high enough? wow.

anyways, back on topic... where's buckus?

wait, why not just take the p2/p3 systems and then give 'em to [H]orde people? i know i could use a bunch of p3's (i wouldn't take the p2's, not worth the elec, but i'd take the vid.card/PSU/monitor/peripherals/case/fans...etc.etc. from the p2's)

and we could even (if no one wants the p2 CPU's themselves) ebay thsoe off and raise money for the [H]orde...

slow... most are p2s. those are probably the ones that will come out. the p3's are mostly slow too. (mostly dead?)

i don't own the machines (he doesn't either, the school gives him a budget) so unless they're gonna throw them out, i probably can't send parts out. if i get a chance to part some out, though, stuff'll show up in the parts swap thread.

Callouts should usually be when there is a reasonable sense of competition involved.... in other words, the two peoples PPD should be close to the same.

Ha! Funny stuffs. Actually, I just got my wife's computer back online after it's hard drive failed, so it had been down for a couple of weeks. AthlonXP 2400+ had been down for a couple of weeks.

Anyway, I've been busy with the following items:

-6 week old baby
-Finals and papers that need to be done before finals
-work

Not a lot of time to scour the [H]ard.

Anyway, here is what I am running. I do not plan on adding any boxen real soon, since I'm also contemplating purchasing a house, so if you can beat what I've got, you can probably pass me:

AMD Athlon64 3200+ (2.0Ghz)
AMD AthlonXp 2400+ (2.0Ghz)
AMD Duron 1.0Ghz

All run 24/7.

i tend to do that too...

i tried DDRMAX a week or two ago. i basically just stood there... i really suck at it:p o well, i could kick anyone's ass in that arcade in most FPSs (the real ones, not the console ones;))

carnival forces: my 900 box finished its WU, so its gonna drop out of F@H for the time being. its a UD box now. we'll see what happens later on...

are you serious, all you have is 3 boxen and you're beating me??

i have an A64 3200+ (2.1 GHz) running 5hrs/day (sucks, parents...)
AMD Duron 900MHz running 12hrs/day (guess who again!)
p2 running 12hrs/day (thanks, mom and dad)
then four p3's (i think they're p3's, could be p2's :eek: i'll check tomorrow) borged at school, running 24/7
one borged A64 3200+ (2.0GHz) running, borged, at 16hrs/day
and a borged p4 (2.31GHz) runs 24/7...

that's about, roughly, 10GHz :(
i will beat you :D

It all depends if you can run big packets or not.
I've only got 31.6 Ghz which should only give me just over 50 Points per Hour.
But because I run big packets on all my folders I'm getting around 100 Points per Hour.

Catching up on Sharp slowly.......
