I have 2 6850's from VisionTek. I'm going to have them water-cooled mainly because the fans are already dieing/dead on them and VisionTek will not warranty. These are also the altered PCB version, not a reference board.

Has anyone had luck flashing these with 6870 BIOS? I know that it's risky, I just want to know how risky with a non-ref pcb.

If not, does anyone know where I can physically mod to give them a bit more voltage. I'm unable to via software.
 
I wasn't aware it was possible to mod ANY HD6850s to HD6870s. You're not thinking of the 6950 to 6970 mod are you?
