Hey, I'm just wondering how all the Pentium D chips stack up against eachother and if it's really time for me to upgrade from a Pentium D 805 to a Core 2 Duo. Share what you got and what benchmarks/performance you get! Thanks alot! It's really helpful to know.

Depends on what you are doing with that rig, what video card you are running, and what res you are playing games at. Info! Need more info!

EDIT: with your cpu overclocked like that, and the XL800 video card, there is not a compelling reason to upgrade if playing games is your main concern.

If you are compressing video or audio and editing, or had a faster video card, then yeah the C2D will boost ya up alot. Just my .02.

i use a 805d on a work pc mild oc to 3.2 . But have a E4300 for game on my other pc, i personally would'nt go from an 805D overclocked past 3.0 to core 2. But if your hardcore, it may be worth it.

I am happy with my setup ATM. I might pull out my 120mm and 80mm finger grinders and up the voltage and fsb and see if I could pull off 3.8ghz on air.

I have an 805 at 3.8ghz on air. It was an easssssyyyy oc'er. I think it has some more in it.
