I am getting ready to set up my wc rig this afternoon, just wondering about the danner pump, after I bought it I read a few posts about how it doesnt have any emi sheilding. Is anyone having any problems with it affecting your monitor at all? Also now I am reading that it is a loud pump :(

I have an eheim 1250 but I am not sure that it will cut the job for my dual dangerden rad and the rbx block, and I would have to find fittings for it to change from 3/8" id to 1/2" locally. Any ideas on where I could find those? I have not seen anything at Home Depot that looks like it will screw into the eheim 1250.

Any info would be great :)

hey foolio, I got a Danner Mag 5 running in my system for a good 2-3years now. I never had a hitch with it. Its not a loud pump. One thing though if u plan on running a closed loop system don't do the "clue trick" for the danner pump. I did that back when i had the pump laid in a container of water, but when i went to a closed loop system the pump wouldn't pick up the water. It turned out that was my problem. Anyways hope this helps. Oh and my moniter is fine as kind. But then again my pump is no where near my moniter.

"clue trick"

?

also I had problems with my eheim 1250 causing waves on my moniter from emi thats why I am worried about this pump as supposedly it has no emi protection :(

the clue was used years ago. I'm not 100% sure on it now, but it had soemting todo with clueing the propeller to the shaft to cut back on noise. But that caused a whole set of other problems which i already talked aobut. You must have your pump right by your moniter if its giving your moniter trouble. Like i say i've been water cooling for sometime now and i never had a hitch with my moniter or anything else inside my case.

He means "GLUE trick".....I did my Danner the same way to cut noise....

And it will cause interference if it is close to a CRT....as long as you are about 3ft from the monitor it should be fine though. And no, it did not mess up my hard drive....

i like my twin Mag 5's...not noisy at all, and move water very effectively...if i were to do this over, i'd go with 7's or larger...but that's me...

I have my case about 3 to 4 feet away and the eheim still had an affect on my monitor!

Cool thanks for all the feedback guys I am going to the hardware store now to pick up the last of the supplies I need and come home and put everything together for leak testing :)
