how good will adobe gamma calibrate it?

FYI - adobe gamma tool is NOT i repeat NOT meant to be used on LCD's. Adobe themselves will tell you that if you ask them.

lcd's and crt's are like comparing apples to oranges. Both give you a display but that is the ONLY thing they have in common and have to be calibrated differently.

adobe gamma is meant for CRT's since people who do serious photo editing DONT use lcd's, or VERY expensive, 'made for photo editing' lcd's.
