I picked up a Samsung 913T and since it is based on the 8ms Samsung TN Film panel, can anyone recommend a very basic calibration for photo editing? I don't have the cash to drop on a Spyder for a professional calibration.

What I need is someone who has actually calibrated the 8ms Samsung TN Film panel for photo editing to give me a baseline with this panel.

Thanks!

I tried to use the color calibration on my 913T, I was immediately baffled by what color was supposed to match what.

Excellent panel for gaming/desktop poking around.

Horrible panel for graphic/photo work.

Like above, I also struggled with figuring out the calibration instructions I found on the web and the applications.

I have a Samsung 930B, newer revision of the 8ms TN

HardOCP news posted a pretty comprehensive calibration tool by www.hex2bit.com. It works well, my colours aren't as washed out as before. But perform the calibrations in a dark environment, so you don't have daylight or indoor lighting influencing the results.
