Ok I have the Spyder 3 and started to mess around wig the calibration stuff. I'm wondering what setups I need to do in the OSD to maximize the performance of my display. Thanks.

I'm interested as well.

I've tried to calibrate a 3007 using a Spyder 2 pro but every time I launch a video game it resets the custom profile I made.

Running Windows 7 64 bit home premium and ATI 5850.

Edit: Calibration works great but it resets when a game is launched. Otherwise works well for web browsing and such.

Games generally don't support color profiles at all. That's why they reset. You could try using the graphics card driver settings but if those don't work you're out of luck since the 3007 has no OSD.

To the OP: Start by setting the contrast and brightness right, then adjust colors right using the Custom RGB setting. Once those are as close to calibrated as possible you should adjust settings in the software. Also remember what you're calibrating: sRGB (typically) or Adobe RGB.

The contrast and brightness isn't a problem but rather the color adjustments with the Custom RGB setting. The Spyder software didn't give any recommendations on that and I can't find anything on what is ideal for that. Also yes it's sRGB mode but should I be messing around with Adobe?

Adobe RGB is usually used in print only so judging by your response don't worry about it.

I haven't used the Spyder3 but did have a Spyder2 on loan once and remember that it had some pointers. In any case it should give you the Delta E values so you could just mess around with the custom RGB and see where it gives the lowest deviation I suppose.

You could try the lagom.nl test images first. Especially the grayscale one is useful because it's easier to see if the grays are tinted red, green or blue. Just remember to use a browser that doesn't support color profiles like Chrome I think, otherwise you may get yellowish looking grays at first (this is fixed by either adding the sRGB profile as standard or using the color calibrator or even Win7's own calibration).

So there isn't any estimates in regards to what the values should be? I pretty much need to mess around with the colors to get the lowest Delta E value and then calibrate?
