I read somewhere that you should calibrate LCD monitors. Anyone know how to do this for a 2005fpw?

Just go through the menu settings if you're on analog. I'm assuming you're asking this because most of the settings are grayed out. This is because you're connected via DVI (Which you should be, for optimum quality). This has your monitor aligned with the video card's settings. Go to your video card's settings and adjust things from there.

I'm actually still waiting on my 2005fpw (should get it today!). But I remember reading a thread in this forum a week ago that talked about calibrating LCD monitors for superior quality. I don't really know anything about this since I've never owned an LCD so....
I used the Eye-One Display from GretagMacbeth to calibrate my 2005FPW. The measured brightness was way too high and there isn't a direct way to control this when using the digital DVI connection. Here's what I did as a workaround.
Go to the User Preset RGB White Point menu and use these settings:
Red = 70
Green = 72
Blue = 68
This gave me a measured white point of 6500K and a standard luminance of 140.
From this point I could use the Eye-One device to create a calibrated ICC profile. The display offers excellent colors and tonal range.
You can find a discontinued version of the Eye-One online for $60 at:
