Hopefully that makes sense. Here's what I'm after. I'm considering replacing my 3440x1440 display that sits 26" from my eyes with a UHD TV that I would wall mount about 44" from my eyes. I don't want to give up any perceived sharpness or image FOV in doing so. I calculate that the DPI on my current display is about 110, and a 49" UHD TV would be about 90.

I also have the option of a 55" panel instead of the 49". I'm not sure if that would make it better or worse.
 
Although I couldn't find an official source for this right now, I think size is simply half the size at twice the distance.
