Calculating PSU needed for this setup

I have been looking around for a tool to calculate what size power supply I should be considering but I can't seem to find anything up to date.

Here is basically the setup:
DFI X48 ddr2 board
Q9450 oc'd
G.Skill 8GB PC8500 ram oc'd
1 8800gtx oc'd
Swiftech MCP655 pump
6 SATA 7200 rpm drives (Seagates, 3x 320gig and 3 500gig if that makes a diff)
6 120mm fans (4 Scythe SFF21F and 2 Silverstone 1200rpm)
Plextor DVD burner

With this setup would a 750 watt PSU suffice? Would I be better off going with something like the 1kw Corsair PSU incase I change the video card to a dual gpu or a couple separate cards in crossfire down the road?
 
A 750 would be fine, I'd probably even say the Corsair 620 will do. Getting a 1000W "just in case" might not be a bad idea, though, if the price is good.
 
It's not accurate. In fact, there are no PSU calculators out there that are accurate. They usually overestimate the wattage neccessary for your system.

Anyway, a good quality 750W PSU should be able to power that. Luckily for you, there's a good deal on a good quality 750W PSU right now:

It's a estimation, and you're correct, it usually is a bit on the high side. I'd rather have the numbers over estimated than underestimated, wouldn't you agree? Also, keep in mind that the calculator does not take amperages into account. So, while it's not completely accurate, it is a good reference point, none the less.

True. I agree. It's mainly the amperage item I dislike about it.

fine for now, yes. keep in mind any future plans that you have to overhaul/build out/add more components to the rig. 85W head room should be fine, and Corsairs are good. Definately would recommend a modular PSU over non-mod.
 
remember that that utility is only an estimation of wattage. it is best to only use it as a guideline b/c if you get a PSU of said wattage from a cheap/no name brand, the output may not be clean or may not actually be close to what it is labeled as. that, in turn, could damage your equipment.
 
You could get by with MUCH MUCH less than 700 watts of power, assuming it's a high quality PSU.
 
Lol I used the calculator at 100% load all my components take about 500watts or 496 exactly according to the calculator. If correct I overbought my psu by 250watts. Not bad but I shoulda went with the corsair 620watt :C.
