I'm sure this has been asked many times by members online, but
I would like to know anyways.
Can you put cables behind the motherboard when the motherboard is screwed into the tray?
I'm not talking extra cables to hide, i mean to route them behind, such as the front panel connectors...

Yes, I have a few behind the motherboard. Im not sure it would be a good idea to put large cables behind it though , although I myself have never heard of it causing a problem. Just make sure there as strait as possible and lye closely to the back of the motherboard tray so they don't push up against the back of the motherboard itself.
 
I have a couple of cables running behind my motherboard. I have a strip of electrical tape running the entire length of the cable, securing it to the motherboard tray. Obviously you want to keep in mind that the spacers you use between the mobo and the mobo tray will more or less define the thickness of the cable that will fit between the two. Also remember that there are some parts that come out the back of the motherboard. Just use common sense and you should be okay! :D
 
The only ones I run down the back are the USB and firewire cables, and I make sure that they stay well away from heatsinks on the back of the board, occasionally I hide the exhaust fans power leads through the back of the board and then up to the PSU area or round the other side of the motherboard tray. you also have to be careful that you don't bunch the wires together as the solder joints on the back of the board can puncture through the plastic sheath and cause a short.
 
rofl i tried running my 24pin motherpower power cable and as you know its massive. It doesnt work :p
