you need a special bios to get those or the internal cards to work. The Hauppage product really is our only option right now.
 
You need to buy them along with a machine that supports them. I hear they come with a slightly custom version of windows thats required.

The SDV adapters are supposed to work with CableCard, eventually, someday, this century.

I'm going to have one delivered to my grave, it should be out by then.

But yeah, CC turned out to be a myth pretty much for long term use.

Which is pretty sad (if you forget all the DRM) cause it would have been an incredibly nice fit in an HTPC ecosystem, fast, easy way (again, if you forget the DRM) to get digital content into an HTPC..... instead you have to turn to torrents for that. :rolleyes:

Or just torrent everything because you already pay $100/mo for TV service and they bar you from everything except connecting directly to shit you don't want to.
 
Yea I just torrent it too, I dont feel bad about it I already pay for the stuff i download and I can record it to my Cablebox's DVR I just want it on my computer.
