Just wanted to know, aside from looking nice is there any real benefit to having sleeved PSU cables?

Not really. Aesthetics is basically the only reason for cable sleeving. Some might argue that sleeving helps with cable organization, but it really isn't a very big difference.

+1. People will alledge it protects from cuts (i.e. sharp edges etc.) but really it boils down to the size of your epeen
 
What's ironic is that you can get the same effect by braiding your wires. I use to do that, but now I braid my wiring and then put a sleeve over it to make it look 'neater'.
