I want to start to sleeve my wires. I was reading around on how to do it but one thing I couldn't find was after I take out the molex pins, is there a certain order that they have to go back in?

well yea, put them back in the same spot the came out of.... dua..

RED-Black-Black-Yellow

Make sure you molex is the right way first... dont want to be plugin you +5v HHD pin to a +12v wire now do you?

The backs dont matter i have mixed them up before it dosnt hurt anything

no its black yellow red black ;) :p

jk

yea they go in the same way they came out. I had my roommate sleave mine a while ago and he put them in backwards so i got to redo it  . last time i let him touch my case.

Your molexes has numbers(small nos. at sides or at bottom or top) and it goes like:

1 Yellow
2 Black
3 Black
4 Red

Hmm ya dont swithc the 5v and 12v...TWICE ive switched them and fried stuff: My CD-RW and my 16x2 LCD. Dont be lazy, take the extra 10 seconds to check, and recheck, and recheck the rechecks check.

Thanks. Ill try to get some kind of marker on it so i know where to put it back on. Do you have to pull the plug off those smaller ones. The 3 and 4 pin connectors or should you just pull the sleeve right over it?

One side of the moltex is flat, and one side is rounded.

Put the flat side down, and instert the wires that way, that way I know that I am always consitent.

If you can fit the sleeving around the connector then by all means do it. The only reason you need to remove the connector at all is to get it to fit. (I use a the larger type sleeving on the atx so i didnt have to remove it. worked just fine) and make sure you use some heatshrink on the ends to keep them looking nice and clean. nothing like having freyed ends on the sleeving to ruin a job.

Thanks for the help. I already have the sleeving and heat shrink. Just hope I don't overcut and waste a lot of it.

Jeeves your project looks pimp.
