Cable management

Was bored today and pulled the side off my case, wasn't too bad but I did notcie that air flow could be restricted.


Cleaned up my cables a bit. Was able to remove 2 cables from my Corsair modular power supply, removed the eSATA bracket below my vid card that I have never used and tucked back all the cables I could.


Droped my temp 7deg C. My idle temp was the same but loaded temp went down

is it even possible for a 7c drop? looks like your cpu voltage is LOWER on the after pic. maybe that's the reason??

I will back this up and say that when i got my new case (antec 900), my temps hovered around 32C idle and dropped to 28C on my x2 3800 @ 2.5ghz. My 8800 GTS dropped about 4 or 5 degrees at idle as well. The load temps especially for my GTS dropped way more than 7C.

I dunno, I suppose that the voltage could have something to do with it, but I have never changed my voltage from "auto" so I never thought to look at it.


Would a .016 change in voltage effect temp that much?
