Cable internet disconnecting every 15-20 mins?

the tittle says it all, it randomly just stops like every 20 minutes (not all the time, but about 10 times a day) but it reconnects a second later, what is causing this please? its so annoying.. i cant play a descent game or download a large file, thanks!

One of the more common causes of intermittent cable internet issues is a splitter..pickup a new one (they're under 20 bucks)..or call your ISP and try to have them replace it (or swing by their office.they'll often just toss you one).

This happened to me a while back with one of the first revisions of the Motorola surfboard modems that Comcast handed out for rental. It would just lose its connection at seemingly random times. Very annoying! At the time, I just called Comcast and they swapped the bad one out for a new one. Problem fixed.

Nowadays, I am using Motorola's newest iteration of the surfboard modem and I have been very pleased with both my down and upstream speeds.
