Will you be sharing which model of Supermicro case you have?
 
Be careful the DIRECTION the cables are designed.


To simplify it, think in your head
Start >>TO >> Finish

where Start = Your M1015
where Finish = Backplane our your Drives

so in your case

Start = SFF-8087
Finish = SATA

the cables you linked too are backwards;)
they are

Start = SATA
Finish = SFF-8087

Hence why above users stated they will not work

for sata cables, only a few are directional, breakout cables and converting to/from cx4 plugs are directional, if I am remembering correctly.
 
If you already have the case, yes, you just need normal forward cables.

If you don't have it yet, I would recommend getting the 846A model.

The TQ models have one sata port per drive, where the A model has sff-8087 ports (1 4port plug, same as on the hba's), and then you don't have to worry at all, and they also contain the sideband info for the lights.

Normally, they are about the same price, but they work the exact same, except with the A models, going back to normal sata ports on a motherboard, would then require the REVERSE breakout cable, you originally where looking at. That is the difference.

Going from the hba to the drives, use a normal breakout, to split the lanes. Going from many ports on the hba/motherboard to one plugs on the drives, uses a reverse cable.

So, if you haven't done so yet, getting the 846A model, will be a lot less cabling mess for you. (just use normal sff-8087 to sff-8087 cables)
 
Already got the case. Found it for half price locally on Craig's List. Too good to pass up. So it looks like I need regular breakout cables.
