Okay so went on a website and now instead of how we always did it with a tab in the middle or what not. Now the correct way to do it with these chips is to run a line of paste down the center of the chip? I just want to make sure here.
 
that is correct. the instructions are the same for all intel dual cores so i went from a small dab to a line down the middle on my pentium d and saw a nice little drop in temps.
 
I've remounted my waterblock countless times... neither method were more than 1c of eachother...
 
lol, i put down a line, then, while installing the waterblock, I pressed it against the cpu and rotated it side to side a few times, and then squished the whole thing a great deal, mobo was flexing so much that I was afraid i broke something... dunno what's going in there now but the temp seems to be good and even on both cores - under load anyways :D
