C2D 45nm odd temps

ok soo when i idle one core on my E7200 will be as much as 10c hotter then the other
but it closes to ~5c under load

is this normal for a C2D? or did i botch my heat sink install?
ex. of temps at idle 35c core0 25c core1
then load 55c core0 and 50c core1

try reapplying the thermal paste and mounting the heatsink again and see if it fixes it any... i see its quite normal for there to be a few C's difference between cores like on my Q6600 one of the cores sometimes goes about 6 C's higher than the other hottest one but 10 degrees is quite a difference.

Odd temperature differences like you're experiencing seem to be fairly common with Wolfdales. It's nothing to worry about. As long as your temps don't go past safe levels, a delta between the two cores doesn't really make a difference.

yea the hot core never gets over 55 under load
just wondering if i botched the heat sink install

maybe you need more contact on one side of the hsf
