C++ Runtime Errors: How do you repair?

I ran a system restore and since then a security application I use is getting runtime errors. I have installed C++ redistributable 2005, 2008 & 2010 but the program still has issues.

Do I need to repair or register DLLs from the re-distributables?

uninstall it then reinstall is the standard fix. the redistributables can be a pain. alternately look on the install disk and install the msvcxxx that you find with it.

I couldn't be arsed messing around with it so ended up re-installing windows, problem solved
