I just picked an emachines 15" notebook with the dual core 1ghz c50 for $230. At first I thought the performance would be awful. However I was very pleasantly surprised. Everything but HD flash video performs perfectly. The only upgrade I performed was 4th of ram as opposed to to 2gb. Anyone else got a c50 based machine. What do you think?

i have the iconia w500 which is a tablet with the c-50 in it. Its pretty good actually. I can play 1080p youtube fine

I have an acer with the C-50, does everything I want it to do, I mean I don't do much on my laptop as is. I can play Minecraft and League of Legends on it tho lol.

I upgraded to 8GB of ram tho...

I'm using Acer Aspire One with the said CPU. This is much better than any other Atom Netbook I used so far. It plays 1080p mkv files with my LED TV connected to the HDMI just fine. For just entertainment used and no heavy computation, this netbook is perfect for me.

i was going to get one but i ponied up the extra 50 and got a e350 laptop instead... from what i was reading all of these are little beasts for how much power they use my laptop as a whole uses maybe 30 watts while i play minecraft... yeah none of them will play crysis maxed out but they will play alot of older games and i have herd that sc2 plays not too bad on lowered settings...

I've got a c-60 in my acer and it works just fine for what I use it for.
Also try disabling windows aero and see how HD in flash plays.

Didn't think about Aero! I'll try that!

I got an Acer Aspire with the c-50 apu. First thing I did was upgrade to a ssd and ever since the performance is on par with my Asus laptop (T5800 2.0ghz/4gb dd2/9300m). I also downloaded this app called brazostweaker which allows to undervolt the apu for more battery life. The app and the ssd gets me about 8 hours on the stock 6 cell battery. The 11.6 inch netbook can do 1080p and bitstream Dolby TrueHD output on HDMI  Also if you are having trouble playing HD flash video try "apply current video quality settings to internet video" in the AMD Vision control center.

Love my Acer Aspire One with the C50. Only thing I've done is upgrade to 4gb ram. Does everything I have expected of it, however that is only MS Word for writing papers and logging into my account at school. Well worth the $250 I paid for it. The 8 hour battery life is nice too!

I have the Acer Aspire One with the C-60 from the target deal last month, great performance for the price.

Best buy ever. Cheap (I'm in Brazil, so it's relative) and very fast. It runs everything fine - I haven't tried games, as I don't want them on my notebook... the temptation is too big on a boring class... LOL

getting 5 hours of battery life out of it. Acer Aspire 5250 with a 15.6' screen.

Thank you 2k3eblade for the tip, I'll try this app!
