C-236 more 'future-proof' than z-170/z-270?

So I really want to go sff. I already have a e3-1245 v5 and just saw an ITX board for it. It seems that the e3-12xx v6 (kaby) will use the same mb. Do you guys think there will be a good chance that this board will work with v7 (coffee) as well? It seem Intel doesn't screw with the Xeon guys as much as the i7 guys ie, broadwell not working with older Haskell mbs. Also, many here suspect i7 coffee lake will only work with z370. Thoughts? I really want to be on to my Xeon, but if there is no future in the platform, it is hard to ignore AM4...

The situation is the exact same on the Xeon line as it is on the consumer line.

For ITX, the 300 series chipset with integrated WiFi is quite a nice thing to release the space it else would take.

I pulled the trigger some time ago with Asus z270i strix. Was planning to move 6700k to Node 202 anyway. if it's compatible - great! If not - well, I'll be still ok with skylake in secondary PC.
