Just out of curiosity, what can't you figure out?
I've always known acronis to be one of the best solutions.

Wow if you cant use Acronis, then no offense, I am not sure there is anything that you can use except paying someone.
What cant you figure out, instead of dumping what you already have paid for/own, why not describe your issues and let the community help you out.
For starters Acronis True Image is "NOT" cloning software, they do make cloning products, but it is not TImage.
If you want to clone a disk there is a ton of tools out there that you can use. Acronis True Image can clone a machine however there are a few additional steps that you must endure in order to perform this.
Are you cloning exact hardware to another computer with exact hardware, are you cloning indifferent hardware, or are you just transferring your computer from a hard drive to an SSD/another hard drive?

I kind of agree with the above. While cloning sounds scary, and can be if you don't know what settings you should be checking to back your data up, there are plenty of tutorials and youtube videos that really help for just about everything these days.
If you're looking for something a little less bloated and a little less pricey, then consider switching to EaseUs Todo or my new favorite Macrium Reflect (free edition). I'm surprised I wasted my time with Paragon's software. Sometimes the bloat and options just get in the way of just cloning a damn disk and nothing more, nothing less. Acronis, Paragon, and the other big guys tend to overload the typical consumer to the point you almost feel insecure in doing an initial backup, much less troubleshooting something when things go wrong.
Don't get me wrong for people that love the added features they are a bonus, but I find for the mass majority of us we simply want a point-n-click clone my damn hard drive over here utility without having to do it through a boot disc.

I use TrueImage 2013, to clone a drive from one disk to another I could just select "Extras and Tools" (not sure about the wording, I use the german version) and "Clone drive" at the top right. However, the boot disk is a much cleaner solution as the image is in a defined state. If you clone a running installation and then boot the clone, from the perspective of the filesystem this is comparable to hard-resetting your computer. Unless TrueImage cloning is much mure sophisticated than I think.
When you clone with trueimage you select all the parameters then it reboots the computer and does the clone, so it's "clean". On the other hand you can't do anything with the computer during the clone.
I've been using acronis for 8 years and it just works. I also tried many other tools that are fine too, I'm just saying acronis is good and if you have it there is no reason not to use it.

Okay, so the Windows GUI does the same as the bootable CD then. I was only using the CD till now.
BTW: TrueImage may have started as a cloning software, but I use it mainly for backup purposes now. Simple cloning can be done with any Linux live-cd, I would not have to pay to get that.

If you find acronis confusing then I believe any free alternative (like clonezilla) will also be confusing.
If you'll go into details on what's confusing maybe someone can help you. It could just be that what you are trying to do wouldn't be good for performance and it's trying to save you from it. A lot of people don't understand alignment and keep trying to force it to how they think things should go for instance.
