Buying Wire

I checked all the local stores for wire, but they all seem to be limited. I need 26gauge and so on. Can anyone recommended a online store?

Digikey and mouser are a couple big electronics sites. Not specifically wire, but I'm sure they'll have what you need.

either that or McMaster or Jameco.

McMaster is more for machinery and mechanical applications though.....

just out of curiosity, why would a fire alarm company have 26guage wire?

there's not much internal wiring to do...

none that you'd want to be tampering with yourself if it's susposed to save your life.

My dad's work does sound systems and they have to fabricate custom panels or switchboxes, they have wire of almost any kind.
Although 26 ga. is small for fire alarm stuff.

Home Depot and Lowes carry wire, and I'm pretty sure they have sizes that small. I don't know what the price would be, but the prices for bigger wire around 6 or 8 gauge are pretty good.

just fyi .. i work for the depot and probably 98% of the stores out there only carry up to 20gage so yer better off lookin elsewhere
