I keep running into the best prices for HDTV's and Monitors at Newegg but have been scared off due to their dead pixel clause. I am wondering if anyone here has bought a HDTV or Monitor from the Egg and if so did it arrive intact and working?

I ordered an Olevia 537H a few years back from the egg. No problems. It was well packed because the factory did it. No dead pixels. Overall a good experience.

I got an Asus VW266H a couple months ago with one dead pixel. I didn't want to get it from Newegg, but they had it for $300 shipped after coupon and rebate. Couldn't pass that up. Luckily the dead pixel is towards a corner.

I bought an LG 20" and it was perfect.

Manufacturer warranty on a new set is 1 year and as long as you stick with the major manufacturers, you get a new panel in a tv for free.

I would buy from Amazon personally (if shipped from them direct). Their return policy is great.

My apologies. I did run a couple searches but didn't see anything specifically about just Tv's on newegg. With that said I don't browse this forum all the much so perhaps I used the wrong search criteria.

Your chances of getting a bad display from Newegg probably aren't any worse than getting it anywhere else. The only problem is that if you do get one you're much more likely to end up stuck with it. I ordered my 47LG50 TV (46.9") from Amazon instead. Newegg was $50-100 less, but I'll pay that to avoid the risk of getting stuck with a dud. Actually I almost bought it from Best Buy. They had a nice sale going when I went looking, but when I went back on Sunday to buy the thing the price had gone up $200.

Amazon does a nice job with TVs. They have a good return policy, and the delivery service is pretty good too. The delivery guy they sent out definitely knew what he was doing. He said normally they test screens before they leave, but since it was cold out he told me to leave it turned off for a couple hours and call Amazon if I had any trouble, etc.

The only little non-complaint I have is the box got dirty. I should have thought of it, but the guy was working alone and couldn't really handle unloading a 47" TV by himself without setting it on the ground. If it's wet/snowy/etc. out and you want the box to stay clean follow the deliveryman out to his truck and help him with it.
