i was looking to upgrade to 2gb of ram but wasnt wanting to do it all at once...u know buy 1 stick now 1 stick later...ive only bought ram kits before and dont know if it would be wise without a kit...i heard sometimes mixing two sticks that werent originally paired isnt a good idea...any suggestions?

I have done that too . As long as both have good latencies i personally you not going to see much in a performance hit.

I would like to hear what sir eclipse has to say on this matter , would be very interesting.

i would advise picking up some memory as soon as you can, because i honestly don't see ddr1 dropping in price anytime soon.. it's on a steady incline, as it gets phased out and replaced with ddr2.
