Buying new rig..suggestions wanted..

So I want to go with a Q6600 setup...

what mobo, ram, video card, case, etc. should I get..ive built many comps before just want to see everyones ideas

That would bring you to like $1.100 ... you save $400 to do anything you want...

I would suggest 8GB of RAM since they are so cheap now. The GPU is either a HD4870 X2 or GTX 280. Harddisk should be the Samsung 1TB. PSU Corsair 750W.

You are in the same boat as me right now and I've been researching what I'm going to buy for a few months. The suggestions look good so far, but go with a single Radeon 4870 to begin with like I am. It'll keep the price down and you can always buy another one down the road.

Hopefully I don't get hated on....

... but depending on how much video-encoding you do, and if you're willing to spend a bit now for more upgrading possibilities later, you could go with an i7 920. Just throwing it out there. $300 x3 for CPU, mobo, and RAM, $100 for Hdd, and you have up to $500 for PSU and GPU. BTW, these are "rough" prices, so don't quote me on them
