Buying new Printer?

Well my wife tells me it is time to purchase a new printer. I currently have the HP 932c which I have been content with for some time. However, my wife tells me it just doesn't print the quality that she wants so with me knowing nothing about printers I thought I would do a search. Well that returned some results but there is no better place than here to get a great consensus.

So far I have been looking at the PIXMA iP6000D. I really don't know much about it except the iP4000 was rated very well and this is a newer model with the CF slot so I thought it has to be better... ;)

Anyhow, I have always had HP printers for some reason but it is hard to find any decent comparisons and the reviews on the Canon PIXMA is great.

So what is everyone's input here. Any great printers for photo printing out there under the $250 range?

In your opinion is it worth the extra price? The review looks good and the accessories are nice. Now you are just making this hard on me... lol. Thanks. I will read more on it.


 
Well the 900 series printers do well on text and their photo quality is not bad. So if your wife is complaining, you need to get the best you can in your budget.
 
good point! But do you think the HP is better in photo quality than the PIXMA iP4000.

The reason I am now looking at the 4000 series is because I saw a few bad reviews on the 6000 for some reason. I hear the 8500 are excellent but still very highly priced. So far right now I think I am going with your advice and am looking at the HP you recommended.


 
Both have excellent quality imho. You really can't go wrong with either one.
