I did ask that you not post unless it was about YOUR experience. Thanks. This post was removed by Kyle.

Kyle... suggestion.... why not order from them anonomously and see how ya make out??

I've ordered from them in the past, their customer service is horrible. The last time I ordered a motherboard from them it was flaky, had all kinds of problems, random freezes, data corruption, etc.

After about a week of isolating the problem from my other hardware, I RMAed it, paying shipping and waited 3 weeks for my replacement. When I finaly got it, it wasn't even the same brand of board, but a no-name that didn't even compare to my previous order in specs, the only thing that it had in common with the board I had originally purchased was the Socket.

I called and asked what had happened and they informed me that they no longer carried the board I had bought, and had sent the lesser one as a replacement. When I told them that I couldn't even use this board, because one of the differences in specs was the number of PCI slots, and I had more add-on cards than I could use, and requested my money back, they informed me that during the time I had spent waiting for a replacement, my ability to exchange the board had expired, even though I had entered the RMA only a week after purchasing the board.

So I ended up with a board that was listed cheaper than the one I had ordered and with nowhere near the same specifications, making it unusable for my purposes, and a customer service representative who was telling me to go screw myself.

I will never order from Tiger Direct again.

I LOVE TIGERDIRECT

Lots of complains I know there have been but ive only had good experience.

My iDEQ 200n was $100 (CDN) cheaper than ANYWHERE else and had free shipping!!!!

They were also the only retailer I could fine that had the logitech mx900 which I just ordered a couple of minutes ago. (again with free shipping)

I plan to make alot of future purchases through them.

plus they always seem to have amazing amounts of stock.

THey have everything I could ever want.

they also have the best website ive ever seen when it comes to products, I can see exactly whats in teh package and normally they have dozens of pictures of each product.

Hate to be a stick in the mud BUT, my ordering experience was awful... I ordered about $500 worth of stuff from them and their website quoted me like $35 for taxes... THEN they go and charge me $75... I was like WHAT?!?! SO I call them up and they tell me that their website sometimes makes mistakes with taxes, and they couldn't do anything about it, and that in my province they were SUPPOSED to charge 15%tax instead of the 7%they initially charged me... I don't really have a problem with them charging me 15% IF they tell me FIRST not after my order is already confirmed... ADDITIONALLY every other site I've EVER ordered from only charges me 7% because that is all the government of Canada requires... the other 8% is collected by my Province... when I talked to people that work in goverment that I know they said since they are out of Province they CANNOT charge me that 8%. SO since TigerDirect is in the States they basically pocket the other 8% which really ticks me off.

Second problem is that the website claimed a $30 rebate on a monitor and when it came it was only $15 and when I called them they told me "thanks for letting us know so we can change it" I was like ?!?!?! so is there anything you can do for me and they told me no that it was a website error and they have disclaimers that guard them from that....

Third problem was that I made a mistake and typed in my shipping address wrong, and put my work address by mistake... SO it didn't go through... no problem right?? Just call and change the adrress right?? WRONG... I called Thursday, Friday, Monday, and FINALLY Tuesday it got shipped out because they kept trying my original address I put in and not the one I told them the 4 times that I called

Final Problem.... my credit card got charged two times in the mess, and maxxed it out(small limit on my AMex) so I couldn't buy online from another retailer something else I needed.... that got reimbursed within the week thankfully...

Put it this way Kyle I am very very leary of them.... I suppose they mighta just had a bad week but man am I ever dissapointed with them....

uhmmmmmm

1st situation: Your problem is that you had to pay tax on your item? Tax you should be paying anyways as you live in a province where it applys??? That doesnt seem to make sense to me. I would fully expect to pay 14% tax as I live in a province where that is the rate.

2nd situation was too bad, I would have liked to see them get a $15 credit, course you could have checked the rebate form yourself before ordering...

3rd situation? too bad they didnt correct the mistake you made sooner.

4th situation? unfortunate but im glad they corrected it.

That is a given. We have never advertised for anyone that we have not done business with or had others do business with them for us. :)

i've bought a monitor and pen drive from them... as well as a few other misc. things (come to think of it, my belkin switch and cables i got from them becuase newegg didn't carry them. nor the pen drive i wanted or the particular monitor i wanted...) with no problems at all.

A good friend of mine has built a few PCs with parts ordered from Tiger Direct... only problem he ever had was a motherboard dead and when returned, it was out of stock, and they gave him a better one in it's place.

Whenever i order computer components, i always use tiger direct and newegg. Newegg usually has more in the mobo/proc/ram/etc department, whereas tiger direct usually has more in the monitor/cdrom/dvdrom/misc. computer cables and parts department.

Bought my first PC from them, worked good til i fried the mobo + CPU (my fault). And I got stuff for a comp from my aunt from them. Shipping was a bit high, But all was good, no problems.

omg I just saw this thread.
I've purchase a 21" sony monitor from them about 2.5months ago. It was a complete different sony 21'' model that I received.
I emailed them the same day to get an explanation and I received an RA# to send the monitor back via their UPS account at no cost.

but it took 2 month after that to get my full refund (including shipping cost) . I finnaly received a check in my mail about 1.6 week ago. (I paid with Paypal, Instant Funds)

You understand that I don't like them very much!

I like tigerdirect.
My company (7 figure value) buys lots of stuff, we get the misc things from tiger.. very competitive on price. Our account Rep always lets us know when ordering if there is something better at a lesser price. When ordering for personal stuff, I get the same service.

Over the years, Tigerdirect has added lots of Mod parts. They listen to the market / customers and work to provide product that suits them. (boy do I sound like a marketing buttt there lol)

As with any online company.. there is bound to be someone who feels then get shorted (which happens) but for the most part, I would say Tiger is a solid rep.

Personally, Newegg gets all 'My' business.. but I look to Tiger or Directron for a second option..

my $0.02 worth.

^^^ Directron? Theres a company i could go on for days about (not good either)

I personally do not like TigerDirect, their site is disorganized and they are not up on current technology in terms of pricing. Whatever floats your boat though

I wouldn't rave about them (they're no newegg, as has been said many times) but i havn't had any problems witht them. I would definately consider them a reliable dealer.

the MAIN reason why i would like to see them addvertise, in addition to them being a good company, and even thought they may be no new egg, i wouldnt know, cus newegg only ships to us

i think every canadian on here would agree with me, they are "one" of the canadian new eggs!

The reason one pays 15% tax in Canada from tigerdirect is because tigerdirect.com has a canadian branch, tigerdirect.ca based in Markham, Ontario. They just opened an outlet store there also.

Only if your located in Ontario I think. Im in Alberta and have never paid 15% from them. We don't have PST obviously.

Have friends that ordered from them with no problem. Definitely recommend advertising for them so they can have a chance at having a reputable name.

Finally, no need to pay shipping, go outlet store! (Pretty close to home, too, yay) I've never had any experience with Tigerdirect, but as there is a store pretty close by, and they have the cheapest price on z-680's anywhere I can find in Toronto, I might go by sometime and purchase those speakers(probably in a few months when I've saved enough).

The 15% tax isn't necessarily in all of Canada, there's 7% GST (a federal goods and services tax) and certain provinces have a provincial sales tax (8% PST in Ontario adding up to 15%). Different provinces may have differing amounts for tax (eg. Alberta: 0% PST).

The problem sir is NOT that they charged me 15% as much as it was them charging my CREDIT CARD after they quoted me one price THEN tacked another $35 on top!!

Lastly if they are not in your province(which they aren't in my caseI live in New Brunswick) they CANNOT charge me THAT provinces taxes... I have half a mind of reporting them and finding out if MY province received the money that they charged me for MY provinces taxes... I bet it went in Tiger's pocket....

QwertyJuan

P.S. If I were to recommend a Canadian site to advertise for on here it would be www.NCIX.com , almost the prices(within a few bucks) and MUCH MUCH better response time and shipping.... check them out Canadian's in case you haven't....

P.P.S. If you live out of their province you only pay FEDERAL taxes :D

PLUS on their current poll Hard|OCP.com is rated HIGHEST on list of review sites!! How can the place be BAD?? :D :D

thing is... TigerDirect is the one offering kyle money for advertisement, not NCIX ;)

Got a case for $30 under normal price. Great packing and prompt delivery only 2nd to newegg IMO.

I have shopped with them 4 times, and 3 times they messed it up. Stuff was poorly packed or broken. They did however make it right with me and fixed the issues I had. They are NO newegg, but they arent bad.
