Has anyone bought games from them? Been using them for renting for a few months but haven't bought anything yet. I noticed they have some good prices for some ps3 and 360 games. Im wanting to buy a couple to have around, just wondering what others experience has been.

thoughts?

i used to have gamefly, thinking of starting it up again to see if its improved on shipping times and having games in stock.

Any rate, i bought a couple of games, one i did keep it now on, the other just bought. No complaints. The keep it now option is cool, already had the game (mlb 2k8 for 360) and the disc was in good shape so did the keep it option and they just send you the case and manual. Its almost like getting it new since they just take out the disc and store the cases.

I plan to, once Prototype becomes available to buy. I got 5 'Gamefly bucks' for being a member for 3 months.

Yeah I bought a few games, but why ask us what the experience is like? You've already experienced it.

You're renting from them, buying from them is the same thing except you don't send it back. In fact, using the "keep it" option is the way I buy from them. I rent it, find out I like the game, then click "keep it" on their website and they just send the box and manual, as well as send out the next rental in my queue. Good prices, especially since you're buying a used game but getting a brand new box and manual.

Good info. Keep it option sounds very cool and even on new games the price is lower than retail. Good they send the manual and case too.

For me shipping has been fast, I get an email that I returned games the day after I drop one in the mail. Then it normally is about 2-3 days until I get the next game. Think I've rented 15+ games in the past few months.

Are their 'keep it' prices pretty good (considering your already paying them $20 a month)?

Typically brand new games were around 35-40 IIRC. Little cheaper than buying it "brand" new but if you factor in only getting say 4 games a month each game is 5 dollar rental, you could toss that in to the cost as well...

Keep it prices are pretty good (sure as hell better than anything you'd find in a store). Especially considering that you already have the disk so you know that it's not scratched (or if it is, it's still playable), and you get the brand new box and manual.

I'm sure there's the possibility of getting used copies cheaper on ebay though.

The main limitation on the "keep it" option is that it doesn't appear for new games, so if you want it, you may have to wait until the keep it option becomes available.
