Hi folks!

I'm looking into buying a new pc this week, i have no budget limit but i have some thing's that i would like the system to have.

Here are a few pointers :

- Be at least 2/3Ghz+
- Must have 19inch+ Flat Panel Monitor
- Have at least 1GB DDR RAM
- Have a radeon 9800XT
- Be from a UK based company

Here are a few systems i have been looking at from meshcomputers (who seem to be getting rave reviews).

The system i have my eye on just now is this one :

http://www.meshcomputers.com/updated/matrix_a_4.htm

I would be making changes to it though (but because the website is cookie based, i cant give a link with the changes i made).

The main changes were :

- WindowsXP Pro
- 250GB SATA HD
- ATI Radeon 9800XT
- Audigy Platinum 2 EX
- Surge Protection!

I will be also purchasing Gigaworks S750 7.1 Digital Surrond Speakers and a set of professional studio monitors (Edirol MD20).

Seem's a nice system and fast enough for gaming and development - i looked at the best alienware system but i feel it was more a designer pc with a good name than an actual powerhouse, the fact the system was over £2,000 from alienware and only have a GF5200FX made this a clear...

I have built all my previous PC's, but just want to go for an all-in-one prebuilt system this time, to save hassel.

Any advice or other websites i could look at would be great!

The system will be mainly for programming (software development) of audio based applications (DSP intensive) and surrond sound research and development.

I also like to dabble in the odd game...

Warm Regards,
Dave

what that looks like is a killer rig, for killer $ (err, pounds for you).

that is more than sufficient for rendering, programming, gaming, and any recreational uses.

but, what is "DSP" ?

EDIT: you do realize that your computer won't have much of an upgrade path, as the current (FX-51) you're getting is Socket940 and they're gonna move to Socket939 really soon now (seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot, or they just don't want to sell FX-51's...but oh well...)

just something to keep in mind.
