:) Im thinking of trading for an x3230 and I dont really see a difference between this cpu and a q6700 G0 stepping cpu except the fact that SSE3 isnt widely advertised as one of its main cpu Code function, but ive read some reviews and been on the intel site and they do say this CPU supports SSE3??. I know that these cpu's are engineered more towards servers and not towards desktops and that they are made on a much cleaner high quility process, which is turn is supposed to give a much more High quility CPU.

Does anyone have one of these or lower x3220 or x3210n and can tell me how they run clock per clock vs there desktop partner... I have a Maximus Formulas Motherboard and any advice on this would be good.

Factor's I need to know

- How do they run is Applications and Games I had an opteron 146 and it was great.

-How does it detect in a intel desktop motherboard... is it smooth or is there some playing around ill have to do.

-Finally.. there OC'ing ability on a desktop board how great is it and what can I exspect.
 
what do you do that you actually need that level of processor? for the majority of people it's complete overkill. not saying you don't have your uses, but do you really need it?
 
For what I do no I dont need a quad but still there sweet and im an OC'er so :D... but im getting a great deal on it...like under $250 and I want know if someone has one that can give me performance and OC information and as we'll as how this processor performs in games and other apps.

Xeons are generally fine.

I run an X3210 in a desktop board, with no issue.
