I'm finally upgrading my home network and looking at getting an HP Procurve. I have a chance to pick up a used one at a good price but I'm hesitant to buy used equipment. Is there anything I need to watch out for? If I buy used are there any diagnostics I can run to check it out?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies. The switch is being sold via ebay so I won't have the luxury of an inspection before buying but it gives me an idea of what to look for when I do buy one.

Thanks

If you buy it and find issues like bulging caps or damage not reported, ebay does protect you, and you can file claims and get ur money back or a replacement.

I always run switches on a 24 hour test. I power them up, stick 2 servers on it, and force huge files to copy over and over and if it doesnt fail life is good.
