Buying a opteron 165

Is there a stepping i should look for when purchasing one. Im new to overclocking and heard this is the best option in my ~300.00 USD price range.

Is there a guide to this processor at all? Are there any definate OC duds taht are 165's.

I need some advice.

I've heard the recent weeks are very good OCers.

There's been one good stepping lately coming from Monarch I believe. The others have been CABGarbage

I think CABGE is a single core stepping, but for dual core, you want:

0550 UPMW/VPMW
0608 MPMW

Monarch is a good place to check out if you want one of these steppings.

Yes, I know, I was just using it has an example lol. But yes, 0550UPMW/VPMW week was really good. actually tbh, the 0551s weren't bad 2.7 usually.

CCBWE and CCB1E were the best steppings if I can recall correctly.

It's somewhat misleading to say that CCBWE and CCB1E are good steppings as there were bad weeks with both... so even if you get a good stepping, you have a bad week and a bad overclocker..
