Ok, I am going to order a new system for work. We order all our computers through Dell and I have the option of going with an Intel 830 or an Intel 930 processor.

Both are dual core, the 830 has 2x1M Cache and the 930 has 2x2M Cache.

I'm trying to figure out why the 830 is $200 more than the 930, when the 930 has twice as much cache. Which would provide the better performance?

buy the 930, its made on 65nm. The process shrink prob just allows cheaper manufacturing. The 930 has more cache, as well as Virtualization. Only other difference is one costs more, and the more expensive is not the one you want.
