Ok so I have been doing research and trying figgure this all out on my own but im still having a little bit of trouble.

I have a Socket A Asus a7nex-e Delux Mobo and a AMD athlon 2800+, my current PSU (ACI hp..... im at work so i dont remember the nubmers) powers everything including all the peripherals fine, but I am starting to build a new System peice by peice (first was a new TT armor case), and I want to be able to change peices out as I buy them.

The current Cpu is on the 5v rail (as far as i can tell), and the MB doesnt have a plug in for the extra 12v cpu plug that the newer boards/cpu's use. SO my question is ,if I get a new ATX12v psu for the new system I am putting together, can I still plug it into my old Asus board till im able to buy all the new gear?

Im thinking that as long as the new PSU still has enuff amps on the 5v rail that it should run fine...right?
