This is where I will be buying my components:
http://www.canadacomputers.com/
all prices are obviously in Canadian dollars..
Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum (NO HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF CPU) $177
CPU: Athlon 64+ 3200 ($241) (MAKE SURE ITS 939!!!!!!)
RAM: Corsair Value Select 512MB PC-3200 DDR400 SDRAM (VS512MB400C3) $109
Video Card: SAPPHIRE RADEON 9800 PRO 128MB $266
Hard Drive: Seagate 200GB w/ 8MB cache $143 (MAKE SURE ITS IDE)
CD/DVD: NEC ND-3500A 16x4x / 16x4x DVD+/-RW Dual Layer $84
Case: Antec Performance One P160 Aluminum Super Mid Tower $155
PSU: Zalman ZM400B-APS 400W Noiseless PSU $129
TOTAL: $1304
Are all of the components a good choice and more importantly, ARE THEY COMPATIBLE? Am I making some kind of a mistake right now? I will probably buy Arctic Silver 5 as my thermal compound.
Also, my computer supports IDE hard drives, right. Somebody told me that I should get an SATA hard drive. I do not know anything about the two different standards so can somebody please explain to me. Right now I am planning to buy an IDE hard drive because I have never even seen an SATA hard drive.
thanks in advance
