Buying a new computer...

Hard Drive: Seagate 200GB w/ 8MB cache $143 (MAKE SURE ITS IDE)

Case: Antec Performance One P160 Aluminum Super Mid Tower $155
PSU: Zalman ZM400B-APS 400W Noiseless PSU $129

TOTAL: $1304

Are all of the components a good choice and more importantly, ARE THEY COMPATIBLE? Am I making some kind of a mistake right now? I will probably buy Arctic Silver 5 as my thermal compound.

Also, my computer supports IDE hard drives, right. Somebody told me that I should get an SATA hard drive. I do not know anything about the two different standards so can somebody please explain to me. Right now I am planning to buy an IDE hard drive because I have never even seen an SATA hard drive.

All looks good, but get a better quality PSU. Try an Antec TruePower/Blue or a OCZ powersupply. It's one of the most underated parts of the computer, but one of the most important.

i would say go with the Sata .. the sata's are a lot faster .. and they're cheap .. u can get a 120GB from anitec.ca for 119 canadian .. i already ordered mine ..

as for the psu .. it's important that u get a quality one or ur gonna get fucked sometime and ur gonna hate urself for it .. check the 12v rail on the psu and make sure it's over 25 A ... also u should add another stick of ram .. making it 1GB in total .. if ur gonna play games .. like Doom 3 or HL2 .. then ur gonna need that extra ram .. if u want help with spots in canada to order ur stuff .. holla .. im a constant buyer .. i know a lot of good Canadian online computer stores
