Finally was able to pull the trigger on my new computer monitor, a Viewsonic PJD6531w. Models in the promotion:

PJD6531w
PJD5122 / PJD5152 / PJD5352 / PJD6211 / PJD6221 / PJD7382

Buy.com has the PJD6531w for $685.99 and $5.49 2day shipping. I had to pay tax...damnit. Total was $752.03 on the projector.

The rebate is from Elitescreens directly, and valid from any certified reseller (of Viewsonic projector models listed). The rebate includes a 4:3 screen for all projectors except the PJD6531w which includes a 16:9 screen. The free offer is for an 80" diagonal screen, but you can upgrade it to a 100" screen for another $30 or so.

You could have bought the same projector at Newegg for 699.99 with 6.99 shipping and saved the tax. They also have the free screen deal.
 
I had this exact screen but 4" bigger, the image quality is OK, you can see a little texture of the screen on a white image though which bothered me. If you're in the westcoast, you can always go to Home Depot and get a Do-able board for under $20, better image quality and cost less. Only downside is you can't pull it up so it's going to be a fixed screen.
