Buy or wait?

I just sold my 7900gtx on ebay for a decent amount, figured I might as well get what I can for it before its value drops more, and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and grab an 8800GTS (gtx is too much $ and horsepower for my needs) or wait a bit for the 8900 or maybe whatever ATI comes out with.

I'm not looking for best of the best, usually 2nd best of the best, are any refreshes or new releases slated for the near future? I'm not in a huge rush to grab another card, got plenty of other things to keep my busy, but don't want to go too too long just onboard video.

Any suggestions?

8800gts 640mb is where the $$ is at, go with evga and if something comes along you can step up with minimal costs.

well, it's not that I couldn't use a gtx, it would certainly make battlefield, oblivion, CoH or whatever new game down the road wonderful I'm sure, I guess I meant it more from a cost perspective, I'm just not into dropping $600+ on a card.

So yea, if the 8800gtx is gonna drop soon, or a 8900gts that is slightly better/cooler/etc. than a current 8800gts is about to pop, I don't want to jump in at the wrong time. And as for the step up, that's how I got my 7900gtx, so I have no problem doing that, but I just want to get in at the right time since I can afford to wait a bit. If it's a long wait, I wouldn't, but if it's relatively short, I can.
