Hey I have an old E-Machines T2080 sitting in my garage and I don't use it because I think something is wrong with the power supply. I can power it on and it will stay on for a while then next thing you know it shuts itself off. A Strange thing I noticed when I switched the power plug for it , it would stay on longer. So I know it has to be the power supply. To get everyone familiar with the computer I pasted the specs right from the emachines site below.
CPU Fan Type: CPU FAN SOCKET 478
Power Supply: PS 250 WATT
CPU: CPU AMD ATHLON XP 2000
MB: MB L7VMM
Memory: Mem, DDR-RAM 512MB (Max. 2GB)
Video: Video, Integrated
Prim CD Model: CDRW GCE-8320B/TG9 (1.02/4)
Secondary CD: DVD ROM SD-616T/TG9
HDD: HDD 80 GB 100125
FDD Model: FDD SFD-321B/MTIC
Bezel: Bezel Graphite/Platinum Nexgen with Power Button
How can I find a nice powerful power supply that will fit this computer. Hence I plan to take out the modem and disable all internet features and use the computer for music purposes as recording.
Thanks all for your help.
