I just purchased Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box for PC and I can't seem to do anything I want. Here is a list of problems I have faced, can anyone tell me how I can achieve these?

1) How do you exit the game? I cannot seem to find an exit button. I press ESC key and I am presented with a menu but I don't see anything that says exit or quit. The only way I can successfully quit the game is ALT+F4.

2) How do I configure the controls? By default, the game has Z for brake and A for acceleration. This is not acceptable to me, I want to be able to configure my own keys, or use my PS2 control pad with the game.

3) How do I configure the graphics? All I see is low, medium, high and custom. Custom seems to present me with no settings to configure, so why anyone would use this is beyond me. Is that it? UIf I want the best graphics, the game just has 1 graphics option? "High"???

Please help me with these 3 problems if you can.

I should have searched before posting, sorry...

I found out the answer to all my problems. I have to press ESC, press F2 then F2 again to bring the actual game menu up. This is a stupid design and very well hidden. I have been playing games all my life and even I didn't know about this secret menu and it took this forum to find out the answer.

I was going to delete this thread but actually, I will leave it up incase anyone else has the same problem as me.

You could also Escape to the menu, hit F1 three times to get to the same menu without bothering with the store load

The menu system is very clunky. It's a good thing the game is darn awesome, online is a little empty at the moment, but hopefully more ppl get this game over the weekend.

Can someone confirm if it has LAN play or not. I've searched but so far haven't found confirmation.

It's sad we have to ask that these days considering it used to be a given just a couple years ago but I'm seeing more and more crossplatform games leaving out the benefits of being a PC gamer portions of the games such as LAN PLAY! aarrggghhhh  Not everyone wants to play online and still enjoy a little face to face LAN gaming.

no LAN play. You have to log onto the Paradise City servers in order to locate and invite friends (i.e. internet connection).

I agree that is an unfortunate decision...as was leaving split-screen local two player out of the console release. That said, it's still a fun game and my friends and I play on our own Freeburn games by doing friend invites.

Yes, the game is good for PC, similar to Flatout Ultimate Carnage in terms of fun.

Oh yeah it is hella fun on PC. Great port too, excellent code. Interface is really bad but other then that the game play is fun.

Game is as good on PC if you've got the rig to play it on (playing on dual 8800 mobiles, SLI, does just fine). I play with the 360 controller whenever I can which is better for steering in my opinion.

The PC version adds Anti Aliasing, which the console versions needed desperatley. Awesome port of an awesome game.

i think the pc version, (on dual core, 8800gt or higher stuff) the game looks hella better then the 360. then again, the 8800gt series was basically the first line of cards to be stronger then what the xbox360 has so.....

Thank you for leaving the post up. I had problems with number 1 & 3 as well.

wish I would have seen this before I bought it. but it probably wouldn't have stopped me :)

I instantly agreed with the former, and will never agree with the latter.

That menu system just begs you to hate that game!

(TDU's so much better, sorry...)

Ha ha you couldn't figure out the menus huh? This game has the weirdest menus ever!
