burning insence around computers

i was thinking about burning some insence in my room but my computer is in here. i was not sure if the smoke from the insence could damage any of my computer components or build up any residue like cigarette smoke. so is it alright to burn the insence around my computer?
 
Yeah man go right ahead. I've been burning incense in my room for years and I've never had a problem with too much buildup. I think it's because of the consistency of the smoke, it's much lighter and doesn't have all the additives that is in cigarette smoke.
And just asking but why is it that you are burning incense? :p
 
I burn inscence and oils around my computer all the time...

It's a quick alternitive to... yknow... cleaning.

try to find some sri sai (shree saay pronounced). It's in a golden red package. Best I've ever smelled. Picked some up down in Encinitas when I lived in Solana Beach.

It should be fine. If anything make sure to turn the computer off and blow it out with a compressor every month or so. ;)
 
Depending on how many incense you burn a day. It will turn your hardware yellow and stain it with tar. That's what happened to my old PC. Every five or six months I remove all the fans and put in new ones. The old ones are to hard to clean. It's ugly to look at a yellow stained case. UGH!
 
I've got a grand piano and this computer in the room my mom burns two sticks of incense in every day(grandmother passed away like, seven years ago, she's been doing it ever since), neither show any noticeable sign of shit buildup.

Probably fine.
 
oil based insence might be a problem, but any other regular insence should be fine since it does not contain any tar'like substances
 
No worries mate.

To be honest, I have used incense sticks to gauge airflow in & around my case many times.
Give it a try - it works ;)
