burning copyrighted dvd's.. how? PLEASE help.

yeah, sorry but I'm pretty sure that this isn't allowed on the boards, i know how but i can't tell you because i really don't want to be banned for illegal behavior...This is the reason they put that GIANT FBI copyright screen on the movies lol.

you can't copy them? WTF is wrong with that? I wish I had a DVD burner so I could back up band of Brothers so I don't have to worry about messing a disc up. surely the companies won't mind this

EDIT: from what I remember talk like this is allowed beause nothing illegal is going on

yeah man.... It's copyrighted.. so I cannot copy the disc. :(
 
You are allowed to copy copyrighted material that you have purchased for your own personal use. Copying a CD you own isn't illegal. Nor is ripping it to mp3s. Copying TV shows isn't even legal. Thats why VCRs are allowed to exist. People who would yell "ILLEGAL" at things like this are the reason the RIAA, MPAA, and other corporations are continually able to push our rights further and further back. </antidisestablishmentarianism rant>
