Lets say I wanted to get a top of the line, lightscribe benq dw burner for a new comp. Would this drive also function as a CD/DVD drive, because I notice it has read ability, or would I need to buy a seperate, regular cd/dvd reader.

Why do some people have both?
sorry for the nubness

1)The Benq will work fine as a reader and writer of CD/DVDs as well.

2)People need 2 drives sometimes for disc-to-disc copies on the fly, i.e. without copying the data to the HDD first.
