I have to rant here for a second ..

I had an ASUS ATI 4850 (one of the first ones), and after a while, I started getting red lines on the screen. If I move the PCB of the card, it resolve the issue (bad traces maybe??)

Long story short, I RMA the card, and in the meanwhile, I replace it with another one.

2 months after I receive the "replacement" card from ASUS, I use it to build a PC for a family member.

SAME PROBLEM. I look at the markings on the card.. they sent me back my old card, without doing anything.

Anyone else been burned by asus like this????

ME ME ME!

they did this with a P5K-E WifiAp board that i had awhile back.

the first board was great. it died 6 months after i bought it. :(

Second board was good, for about 3 months, at which point it was just too picky to work with, and all the sudden my E2180 wouldn't OC like it should have (3 different boards were able to take it to 3 ghz, this one couldnt).

RMA'd that board, and they marked it as "REPAIRED", and sent the same thing back to me.

I sold it to someone in the FS section. he had the SAME problems i had with it. it was clear they didn't do a thing with the board.

I called a guy named ERIC, in the THIRD TIME RMA DEPARTMENT. not only was he a nice guy, but he was a great help, and helped me get another replacement board, that to this day (as far as i know anyways, i sent it back to the buyer i sold it to) is still working.

Hope i helped.
