Scenario: More than 10 drives need to be tested and fleeced for failures. Testing needs to be thorough and complete. Ideally would like output listed by SN and a summary of issues or pass/fail. Theory is there is one or more bad drives or potential cabling issues. Time to prove or disprove.

I did some searching on google and looks like many utils are in the linux world, I am not strong in that world but willing to listen/try.

I found this utility that looks like it can do what I want: GitHub - ncw/stressdisk: Stress test your disks / memory cards / USB sticks before trusting your valuable data to them
What I like is that you can set it to run default 24h test, or set it for longer. I am thinking 48-72hr minimum.

Is there another utility I should use in addition, or instead of this utility?

I have not heard of this utility. On linux I run a 4 pass badblocks read / write on each disk. It writes a pattern to every byte of the disk then reads it back and compares the pattern to the data on the disk then repeats this 3 additional times with 3 additional patterns. This test takes 40 to 60 hours for a 4TB drive. Before during and after I look at the smart with smartctrl.

This procedure works fine for multiple disks. I use it at work for every disk I get even when I get batches of a dozen. When this happens I run them from different virtual consoles or use screen to do similar.
