Well built meh first PC and it went really smooth. Anyway..

Im still confused on the jumper settings for my WD 7200 160gig SATA HD. I've looked on WD's site but to no avail(gives no info for my HD).

I think thats about it...things are running really smooth, time to start tweaking.

the settings are all the same anyway for newer drives...

there should be a diagram on the top of the HD, look on the sticker with all the writing

yes it shows basically nothing, that was the first thing i checked. It shows the jumper posistions but doest say what each does.

groan...
it really wasnt that hard....

here, in case that isnt enough, i wouldnt want to have to google "western digital jumper" it again, and click on the first link.

I thought SATA drives didn't use jumpers. What are you trying to change?
Falls: that doesn't look much like a SATA drive. And don't use images from someone else's site.

hmm
i didnt see that sata part...
*smacks self*

they dont have jumpers, as far as i know, since there is only one device per channel

i googled it, ive looked at that pic 40 times since i first went to the wd site. My drive came with a jumper on it, no harm in taking it off right?

sata hard drives don't need to worry about jumpers, you can take it off it you want
do you have the cables already because first off there is a different number of pins on the power connector and the cable.
it hooks up in one orientation just plug it in. and start your computer that simple

seriously not that hard
